Red Hot

Just because I am trying to remove color from apartment that doesn't mean I don't like it in my life.  Like all good interior designers, I love a pop of red scattered through out a room. I have also been trying to find the perfect red dress for winter. It would be the perfect complement to all the grey I wear and it's been reported that red attracts men. Here's hoping.

Bon Weekend

The weather in New York could not be more beautiful and it will continue all weekend.  Hooray!  The Park Avenue tulips above are standing tall and proud all along the Upper East Side.

While this dapper gentleman and most of the city were enjoying some time in the sun.

Many interior designers like Kathryn Ireland (above) were putting the final touches on their rooms for the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. I was on hand to photograph the rooms this week and will posting them beginning on Thursday, May 9th.  If you want to see it for yourself, it opens to the public on Tuesday, May 7th and will run through June 4th.

You Can't Win If You Don't Play

On Valentine's Day, I won this amazing red Celine Phantom bag from Vaunte.  I never win anything and I still can't believe I won a Celine bag.  I'm not telling you this to gloat but to remind you that you can't win if you don't play.  A good reminder for contests and life!

Color My World

I LOVE this color block outfit (it's Prada) that Amanda Seyfried was wearing that was posted on Who What Wear today.  It's freezing again in New York and this ensemble is getting me even more excited for spring.  It also reminds me of a few other things I've seen recently. 

I have been stalking these Tabitha Simmons Alexa Bicolor Flats at Barneys because I can't decide which color I want to buy.  I'm leaning toward yellow but what do you think?

I also popped by Hermes yesterday to see their new Rallye 24 table top porcelain that was inspired by the iconic anchor chain and race track ovals. It's not available online yet but you can find it in the Madison Avenue store.

NYFW Fall 2013: Trina Turk

Red seems to be popping up in every collection for fall 2013 and Trina Turk was no exception.  According to the show notes " Trina Turk's fall 2013 collection signals a distinct brand evolution as she focuses on the sleek and chic style of California today. Her signature west coast optimism has been infused with a richly refined approach to fabric, detail and print. The result is a sophisticated collection full of striking new looks that are both easy and unforgettable." 

I personally loved the mix of black and white patterns above but I would also wear that plum colored toggle coat in the last photo. It would mix perfectly with all the grey on my closet, another color I've been seeing everywhere this week. More on that later. I also ran into Jonathan Adler as I was walking into the presentation.  You never know who you might see at fashion week.
