The Grand Budapest Hotel

Today has been insanely busy.  While I try to organize myself and edit photos for a post, I leave you with the trailer for the new Wes Anderson film The Grand Budapest Hotel.  The all star cast led by Ralph Fiennes and quirky story line set in the 1920's already has me hooked. Unfortunately, it won't be released until March 7, 2014 but that doesn't mean it still couldn't inspire your Halloween costume this year. Enjoy.

A Parisian Love Affair

It's the first official day of New York Fashion Week but I have Paris on the brain.  On NOWNESS today is Escapade: A Parisian Love Affair, "an enchanting new love story inspired by the Parisian luxury design house Pierre Frey." I love create people and companies that can't be confined to just one medium and this film is a perfect complement to the luxuriousness of Pierre Frey fabrics.  It was shot by French detector Martial Schmeltz with a score composed by Mattias Mimoun, a close friend of the Frey family. Fair warning, it might make you want to immediately book a ticket to Paris.

On the Road

I loved this spread Lost Highway the minute I saw it in the October 2012 issue of Vogue.  It features model Kati Nescher and Garrett Hedlund who stars as Dean Moriarty in the upcoming film On the Road due out in December.  It reminds me of my dad's road trip photos from the late 1960's that I posted here and also that I want to take my own road trip across the United States someday. First, I just need to find a co-pilot as cute as Garrett.

Beautiful Backdrop

The Beatrice Inn was a favorite with the fashion flock until it closed in 2009.  Vanity Fair editor in chief Graydon Carter recently resurrected the restaurant just in time for Calvin Klein to host a chic party during fashion week. I actually pulled together photos to post of the new space since I love the green banquettes and antiqued mirrors but felt it was missing something.  The party pics bring life to the space not to mention some beautiful faces. On a side note, Graydon Carter also has a supporting role in the new film Arbitrage with Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon.  Makes me wonder what he'll try his hand at next.
