Chic in Soho: BDDW

I happened to be in Soho Friday with my camera so I stopped by a few stores and showrooms.  I haven't been in BDDW in a while and it's clear I should stop by more often.  The furniture is always amazing but I really loved the autumn inspired wall hangings. They also seem to hold archery competitions in the showroom.  Don't see something like that very often in New York.  But more importantly, I wonder how I can get myself invited to participate.

Chic at Work: Lele Sadoughi

Last week, I had the fun opportunity to visit chic jewelry designer Lele Sadoughi in her new Soho studio.  It's filled with treasures she's brought back from trips and vintage furniture reupholstered in fun fabrics.  And let's not forget all the beautiful baubles.  I first found Lele through Moda Operandi and since then, her pieces have been seen in all the top magazines. Before going out on her own, Lele started the jewelry collection for J.Crew and also designed jewelry for Tory Burch and other private label collections. The fall 2013 line was inspired by celestial bodies and spring 2014 which you can see on the mood board was inspired by hot Havana nights. I also wouldn't be surprised if a home collection was far behind.

As a special treat for Habitually Chic readers, Lele Sadoughi has generously offered you all 15% off all orders though next weekend with the code lelechic

Happy Shopping!

Hearst Designer Visions 2013

The Hearst Designer Visions Showhouse is an event I look forward to every year.  The designers chosen to participate go above and beyond and this year is no exception. They used to choose a film as the inspiration for the spaces which I always loved but now they are asked to come up with their own muse.  Chicago based interior designer Alessandra Branca decorated a duplex apartment in conjunction with Elle Decor magazine and used current clients as her jumping off point. Of course, it's filled with her signature red color and amazing art. Alessandra grew up in Rome so there are also some Italian touches including a photograph of the Villa Borghese Gardens and marbleized leather.

The Heart Designer Visions Showhouse is located in Walker Tower on West 18th Street and the floor to ceiling windows give expansive views of the city.  The duplex apartments feel more like a house than an apartment which is a rarity too.  Most of the events at the Showhouse are private but I will keep you posted if any public events are scheduled this year.  I'll also be posting more rooms and the other apartments so check back soon for more Designer Visions.
