Back in Stock

I had an appointment with Ralph Lauren Home at the Ladies Mansion this morning, more on this later, and spied a very chic book for sale. I have been trying to get my hands on a copy of Life and Work: Malene Birger's Life in Pictures for years but it was sold out.  I'm happy to share that you can not only buy a copy at Ralph Lauren but also online.  Her homes are full of texture and patina but devoid of bright colors.  I have been thinking about going more neutral in my own apartment and after leafing through the book, I am even more determined.  You can see photos of her spaces in one of my old posts here.

Bon weekend!

Marvelous Malene

I know I just posted a lot of color but what's really been inspiring lately is black and white. It's the hot look for spring 2013 fashion and it's still a classic for the home.  You might remember that Danish fashion designer Malene Birger is also a fan from this post.   Well, she's been at it again at her new home in Palma, Mallorca. The article was in Dutch so I can't tell you any more but as we know, a picture is worth a thousand words. I really wish she's open a store in New York but until that happens, you can shop for By Malene online at Shopbop and Net-a-Porter

Something Chic in Denmark

The new Lonny is online today and I immediately fell in love with this home outside Copenhagen, Denmark.  It's owned by Marianne Brandi and Keld Mikkelsen who head the fashion company Day Birger et Mikkelsen. The company description sounds like it could also be describing their home, the "vision was to bring beautiful, ethnic influences from his world travels and merge them with Scandinavian simplicity, masculine tailoring and vintage inspired styles. The result is a luxurious mix of modern classics, embellished details, exquisite craftsmanship and inventive elements." It also has a similar feeling to the home of Malene Birger who was once a designer for Day Birger et Mikkelsen and now has her own line By Malene Birger.  For more pics and the full story, head over to Lonny
