Twinsies

I think every weekend house should include a guest room with twin beds.  They're perfect for kids and also adults who need to share a room but I also love how they look.  While this room was designed by Tammy Connor for the Hamptons Designer Show House but it would look just as good in any of the lake houses I posted Friday.  It was definitely one of my favorite rooms and I love that she incorporate linens and furniture from my sponsor Serena & Lily. 

On Friday, I received an email from a reader who was a little bored by my coverage of the Hamptons Designer Show House last week.  I'd just like to remind everyone that these designers spent a lot of time and money to participate and deserve our support.

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

It's grey and rainy in New York today.  What better time to post the beautiful sunroom from the Hamptons Designer Show House.  The room is a pass through between the great room and the kitchen but designer Kate Singer did a great job with the awkward space.  I especially love the gallery wall of art and mix of blues and neutrals. Definitely makes me wish I was at the beach.

Hamptons Designer Show House: Guest Suite

I met Jennifer McConnell, the Vice President of Design for Pearson Furniture on one of my first trips to High Point.  I loved her work in their showroom so it was a delightful surprise to see that she designed a room in the Hamptons Designer Show House.  The fabric is also from Pearson and I love how it mimics waves on the ocean and the pool right outside.  Also looks like the perfect place to curl up and read a book on a rainy day. Great job Jennifer!

Hamptons Designer Show House: Study

Interior designer Patrick Lönn creates sophisticated spaces in which you can still relax.  Such is the case with his equestrian study in the Hamptons Designer Show House this year.  He said this luxurious room was inspired by the recent move of his horse to Lionshare Farm in Greenwich, Connecticut and even included his own Hermes saddle. Other equestrian items include the saddle stitch on the leather upholstery and trompe l'oeil ceiling panels created to look like Hermes scarves. Patrick said the artwork was also an important element in the room.  He chose dramatic photographs of horses in motion by Bob Tabor.  I especially loved the Tang Dynasty horse from Illiad Antiques.  It's definitely a chic room but you also feel like you could lie down and take a nap on that fabulous sofa.  It also just goes to show that neutrals don't have to be boring.  But then again, I couldn't image Patrick Lönn ever designing a boring room!

Hamptons Designer Show House: Entry

It was a nice surprise walking into the Hamptons Designer Show House and seeing that interior designer Lee W. Robinson decorated the entry.  He also did an amazing job.  You might remember that I visited Lee's shop in Louisville, KY and many southern accents have made it into his space.  As have equestrian elements like horse themed art, a vintage Hermes scarf, and horse bits on the standing screen.  The rug even reminds me of the jockey's riding silks at the Derby. And of course I love the accents of orange.  Riders up!
