I want it now!

The hardest part about attending the fall fashion shows in February is that you want to be able to immediately buy and wear everything you see on the runway.  This is especially true at J.Crew.  I loved the coats, bags, shoes, sweaters, and pretty much everything. To quote Veruca Salt, "I want it NOW"! But since I can't, I guess I'll wait until September and start shopping for spring.

Cute shoes!

I want this coat now!

Modeling is exhausting!

Chandeliers Are the New Black

I was going to put together a post on all the chandeliers I saw at the fall 2103 shows this past week but T magazine beat me to it.  The stag horn chandeliers at Ralph Lauren on the left were the most gorgeous while the one at Jason Wu on the top right was the largest.  Tory Burch showed in the opulent Pierre Hotel with it's own chandeliers on the bottom right.  Might be time to head to the flea market to find one for myself.

Bon weekend!

Fashion Flu

The "fashion flu" strikes almost everyone who attends the shows and my time has come.  I'm taking the night off to rest but will be back tomorrow with more NYFW coverage and some non-fashion related news.  Until then, I'm leaving you with one of my favorite looks from the Fall 2013 J.Crew presentation yesterday. That coat would definitely make me feel better.

NYFW Fall 2013: Trina Turk

Red seems to be popping up in every collection for fall 2013 and Trina Turk was no exception.  According to the show notes " Trina Turk's fall 2013 collection signals a distinct brand evolution as she focuses on the sleek and chic style of California today. Her signature west coast optimism has been infused with a richly refined approach to fabric, detail and print. The result is a sophisticated collection full of striking new looks that are both easy and unforgettable."

I personally loved the mix of black and white patterns above but I would also wear that plum colored toggle coat in the last photo. It would mix perfectly with all the grey on my closet, another color I've been seeing everywhere this week. More on that later. I also ran into Jonathan Adler as I was walking into the presentation.  You never know who you might see at fashion week.

NYFW Fall 2013: Boast

Someone commented that the Boast presentation at the Harvard Club looked like something from The Royal Tanenbaums. Since Boast is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary this year, I'd say that the reverse might be true.  The brand was founded in 1973 by Greenwich tennis pro Bill St. John and soon became a favorite of the preppy set. It fell by the wayside until a group that included Ryan Babenzien and Andy Spade thought Boast was right for a revival. Oh, and that's a Japanese Maple Leaf and not what you thought it was so get your mind out of the gutter!
