Autumn in New York

Autumn in New York
Why does it seem so inviting?
Autumn in New York
It spells the thrill of first-nighting

Glittering crowds and shimmering clouds
In canyons of steel
They're making me feel
I'm home

It's autumn in New York
That brings the promise of new love
Autumn in New York
Is often mingled with pain

Dreamers with empty hands
May sigh for exotic lands
It's autumn in New York
It's good to live it again

Lovers that bless the dark
On benches in Central Park
It's autumn in New York
It's good to live it again

Autumn in New York

Bon Weekend

While you all were getting sick eating too much candy last night, I was really sick with a terrible sore throat. While I recover and try to get caught up on my blog posts, enjoy these chic and simple holiday decorations from the Upper East Side.  Remember, pumpkins aren't just for Halloween.

Bon weekend!

Bon Weekend

Calm Before the Storm

Since we're about to be hunkered down at home for the next two days, I'm glad I was able to get out and about recently. I saw a lot of great decorations and preparations for Halloween as well as beautiful changing leaves.  Hope they don't get ruined by hurricane Sandy and you all stay safe and sound.

I also want to thank everyone who came out to my book signing for Creativity at Work at Archivia Books today.  We actually almost sold out of the books which was amazing for the day before a hurricane.  If you couldn't make it and want a signed copy, you can call Archivia Books to order one.  I will walk over and personally inscribe it for you.

Calm Before the Storm

September

"The morrow was a bright September morn;
The earth was beautiful as if newborn;
There was nameless splendor everywhere,
That wild exhilaration in the air,
Which makes the passers in the city street
Congratulate each other as they meet."

-   Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
