Another Chic Chateau

I always love special men's issues of magazine because they are usually less full of fluff.  They are also often full of new names and faces in art and design.  The men's issue of T magazine this weekend is no exception.  I especially loved the feature on furniture designer André Dubreuil in his family's 18th-century home, Château de Beaulieu, in the Dordogne region of France. The other best part of T magazine is that if you forget to buy the New York Times in which it's included, you can read the entire issue online here.  Also helpful for my foreign readers.

Chic Chateau Had at Me Hello

I'm not usually that impressed with the homes that the New York Times features but this 17th-century chateau had me at hello.  It was a bit run down when Giuseppe Laviani and his family bought it for $500,000.  They put $500,000 worth of renovations into the 9,000 square foot chateau on 20 acres. To a New Yorker used to crazy real estate prices, that seems like quite a bargain. Probably helped that Giuseppe's son was the architect. Their life seems like my dream.  So much so that I just might have to consider retiring to France someday.  To read the entire article, click here.

The Clash

The new issue of T Magazine will be in Sunday's New York Times newspaper but I already started reading it online.  I absolutely loved this spread The Curious Appeal of Pieces that Clash.  I don't think I can afford one single thing but a girl can dream.

Lee in T

There has been a lot of buzz this week about the launch of T magazine and WSJ Magazine next weekend.  For those of you not following along, Deborah Needleman was the editor in chief of the WSJ Magazine but decamped to overhaul T magazine for The New York Times.  Harper's Bazaar editor Kristina O'Neill is now the editor in chief of the WSJ Magazine.  WWD has stories about both here and here that are worth reading.  

While we haven't seen any spreads from the WSJ magazine, the cover story on Lee Radzwill for T magazine is online.  She's Jackie Kennedy Onassis's sister for those of you who might not know.  Francois Halard photographed her gorgeous Paris apartment and Legendary designer Nicky Haslam conducted the interview while director Sofia Coppola has a little video chat with this icon of style and elegance as the cover line above attests.  We should all look that good at 79.
