Habitually Chic Update

Sorry for the radio silence for the last few days.  I was finishing up my keynote address before I left for Cleveland and didn't have much downtime to post while I was away.  I want to thank everyone who came to hear me speak at the Ohio Design Center and bought books at the signing.  It was lovely meeting you all! I especially want to thank Amber Gallihar of Lief Karson for showing me all around Cleveland. I fell in love with all the homes in Shaker Heights including the famous Van Sweringen house above.  Of course the beautiful autumn weather didn't hurt either. It was funny how many people told me they grew up in Shaker Heights after I started posting photos on Instagram.  The residents seem to be as chic as the houses.

Since I was over that way, I decided to puddle jump down to Pittsburgh to spend the weekend with my family. Sometimes after six years of blogging, a little break is needed to recharge our chic batteries.  Thank for understanding!

Lake Erie looking lovely on Friday.

The trees were already starting to turn in Cleveland.

Pink sunset behind my house Friday night.

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Visiting a pumpkin patch in Ligonier.

Falling leaves in Ligonier.

Before heading to the airport on Sunday, we visited Henry Clay Frick's home Clayton in Pittsburgh.  My father would be upset if I didn't mention he is fourth cousins with the steel magnate.

The Greenhouse at Clayton used to supply flowers to all the other Frick homes including the one on Fifth Avenue in New York.

The Car and Carriage Museum at Clayton was a chic treat.

All photos by me via instagram.
